Brief
Help the Campagneteam Huntington (campaign team) promote awareness of Huntington’s disease to break the taboo surrounding it, and raise money for research. Develop a campaign to create widespread media attention. We connected with this illness – and the campaign team – because one of our co-workers is at risk of developing the disease. So we jumped at an opportunity to get involved and do what we could to help, free of charge.
how it worked
We looked for partners to join us – people who were also willing to work for free. The result was the entire coordination and development of a new website, shoots for a commercial, interviews, donation boxes, street advertising, digital ad masts, flyers and much more. And there’s more to come. So long before the grand campaign launch in Aalsmeer (14 May), we’re working round the clock.
Result
This is advertising like never before! You can see the results on doodgezwegen.nl. And that’s where you can make donations, too. Every cent of the proceeds – every cent – goes straight to research. It would be fantastic if you could get involved as well. With any luck, it could lead to the most amazing result of all: eliminating this disease for good.
Update 22-5-2016
The Huntington commercial went viral on Sunday 22 May! Besides the campaign and lots of attention on Radio 2, an open letter from Patricia to Dumpert was picked up by the website on Sunday. The campaign was also shared by many other media. Linda Nieuws shared Patricia’s message, and Gordon invited her to appear on the programme ‘Nooit Meer Naar Huis’. All this generated a massive amount of support. After one day as #1 on Dumpert, the commercial gained half a million viewings, with donations pouring in almost every minute. Fantastic!
